Bellow is my 2nd silhouette composition:
MY PROCESS:
I started out with pictures from my own camera:
My first step it was to clear out the picture with the boat:
I didn't want anything but the boat and the water, so, i used the clone stamp tool to erase it all and give it a bit of mystery ....
Then I cut out the city skyline form my 2nd picture (using the magnetic selection tool) and pasted it as a 2nd layer of the composition.
After that I lowered the lightness until the skyline became a silhouette ...
My final steps was positioning the layers, then stylizing the boat layer and then duplicating the skyline so that it has more depth.
I added texture to the layer: artistic canvas! I like this canvas because it looks like an old oil paint and its a good contrast to the modern skyline.
